Might have had a win this afternoon. YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!
Paul tells me DET said they’ll review the block they have on ALL wiki’s, and see if mine should be accessible to students.
Hopefully they can then start accessing the history resources and learn more at their own pace.
I want the kids to evaluate the site so I can cull the rubbish and hopefully keep a few good bits……

Conference Information available, bur early bird registration closes today. For NSW Connected Classroom IWB’s this should be very useful conference for teachers. Hopefully my cheque is in the mail.

Attached is a short article about IWB use in the classroom.
To me, the need for high quality and sustained professional development for teachers is the most telling.
We can only hope that this is going to happen and be paid for by governments.

I guess they are from a boffin/techno geek point of view. Largest network, connected classrooms, IWB’s, t4l, Kev07 Tablets etc etc all good stuff BUT……
How many classroom teachers are as frustrated as I IF sites are blocked on DET servers that we feel are valuable web2.0 resources for our students?
I see a conflict IF NSW teachers are supposed to be digital web2.0 users, when access is restricted.

I found this conference to be an eye opener. Some people I actually liked listening too as well.
A lot to digest over 2 days, but it did inspire me to find out more about web2.0 tools, the connected classroom program and how we can use these in our classrooms (once we get connected that is…..)
Hope to build this blog into something I can share and use with colleagues, or not.
