John
Valuable advice to take on board. Thank you.

My goal was to connect F2F with leaders from DET NSW North Coast Region with the responsibility to manage our Connected Learning Priority. Ticked those boxes so will see what happens next. I am sure it is positive as thats the vibe I got from them.

Baby steps so far BUT I'd like to think our DET leaders deeply understand (and engage with personally) the changes we need. Not so sure yet but they are listening, good stuff.

I am on our "local stage" and very satisfied running our weekly (after school in our time) web2.0 workshops for our keen staff. Really happy we are booked out, more are starting to build PLN's at our place and learning the web2.0 basics.

As I am not from a technical ICT background, I need to iron out the bugs in what I'm offering. Maybe others will see what we are doing and another audience will eventuate?
cheers

Tony,
A nice post indeed. I do have a simple solution for your dilemma Tony. I will share it at the end of this comment.

Yes, similar emotions and feelings strike myself post conference. An allegory just crossed my mind. Like the proverbial smoke or visit to the fridge just after coitus. Well, what's next? The cliques do get in the way. A few years back at NavCon I politely avoided those from my own region and hung out with teachers from Victoria and elsewhere. They were where it was at.

Your post made me think back on conferences I have attended. The conferences that had the greatest positive impact were those that were hands-on, collaborative, project based and produced tangible outcomes. The Innovative Technology Schools Conferences held at UOW and UTS spring to mind.

My solution for your post-conference blues? Tony, you should not be sitting in the audience. You should be up there on the stage, running a workshop, facilitating a TeachMeet, etc. See a conference, or more, that you like, submit a workshop or presentation proposal and go for it.

Cheers, John.
