Thanks for your input as usual Lauren and Tomaz.

I'll also need to develop a thick(er!) skin after some of the quizzical staff looks we received yesterday. All very new to some so questioning is a great start.

A little PBL for staff to do over 3 weeks. I am genuinely interested in their engagement level and responses. Hope it works as intended.

May get you to share your experiences at some stage in the discussion.

Hi Tony

Great post and together with Lauren's heartfelt 'rant' as she calls it, strikes many a chord with me as I keep nodding while reading it...yes, yes, yes.

My experience & thoughts, recorded at

http://human.edublogs.org/2008/06/19/change-is-caught-not-taught/

may add to it.

It always is about the art of teaching and unless we recognise that and channel the 'zeal' for ICT into people, we are short-changing ourselves and the kids for the future. I like ICT not for the shiny, flashy fronts but for its potential to be a Trojan horse of change in this awful 'industrial model' of education we seem to have been stuck in for 250 years.

My comment probably adds to the 'echo chamber' Lauren talks about but well done for your work and the wisdom you share.

Cheers !

Tomaz

Hey Tony,
I just got back from the IWB conference and I havent blogged about it yet but my gosh was it a self congratulatory event. Presenter after presenter telling us all how this has impact their teaching and made them a better teacher. NOT ONE person spoke about how this works with students? This technology had the potential to put students at the front for the first time and everyone is stuffing it up.

I have begun to make a point after everything I do, I seek feedback from others. From this I have had to learn to get a thick skin but hopefully it will make me a better learner.

I am now trying to work out how we run a conference where students teach teachers ! I wonder who would come, I would be there not sure who else
